Orly Ancient Jade

Oh, Ancient Jade. I love you because I love ALL mint shades, and the fact that you're a tad different - more deep, more dusty than the others - but you gave me heap big troubles. Seriously. Almost as much trouble as your collection sister, Pure Porcelain. The formula was thicker than I'm used to from Orly, and it just refused to level out. This is three coats.
And - no, this doesn't give me lobster hands, but for some reason the best representation of the mint shade showed up as red fingered? I dunno why. In reality, it doesn't do that to me at all.

Anyone else having troubles with Pure Porcelain or Ancient Jade, in terms of application? LOVE the shades, maybe I should add a little thinner.

  1. Is it warm enough of a green to make my skin look inflamed or could a freak like me wear it?
    You can wear anything!

  2. Looks very pretty on you! I am not a big fan of Orly so I never got this one.

  3. @Evil Angel Andrea, my skin is olivey/yellow/brown, and it really doesn't make my skin look red IRL! I can't wear everything - I look like complete shite in orange reds. GAG. But oranges themselves are okay!

  4. @Sminkan I usually don't have too much trouble with their formula, but this was bad! It reminded me of the troubles I've had with Essie pastels. Usually Orly pastels have a better formula, so sad!

  5. Excellent shade on you. Don't have these so not sure about the formulas. I am debating on picking this one up some time in the future tho.

  7. @Lacquer Ware for Tips and Toes I am thinking, maybe thinner would do the trick for the formulas on these two? Because I love the colors.
