Today's beautiful purple comes to me via my girlfriend Cindy of Nail'd And Polish'd. She knew I'd been lemming it, so she sent it along to me! Sally Hansen put out a couple of AMAZING purples in their Xtreme Wear line last year, one of them being Mystic Lilac. I ended up selling mine, and hugely regretted it because I couldn't find it to repurchase it! I tried frankening it, but Into the Mystic is just not the same as Mystic Lilac. It's pretty, but not what I was wanting. I have put a bottle side by side into my photos so you can see what a difference there was in my franken and the original.
So, Mystic Lilac is pretty much the perfect name for this murky lilac shade. It's a very greyed out jelly with aqua shimmer. It's stunning! It is a jelly, so it's thin and you might have VNL if you leave it alone at two coats - I used three for these swatches. I have always loved the Xtreme Wear bottles and brushes, they're easy to use and hold.
I'm pleased at how well you can see the shimmer in these shots. Purples can be notoriously hard to photograph and I was worried I wouldn't capture it - if you like, you can click to enlarge to see it better, but the macro tells the story, I think, as well. Isn't this lovely?
