Nostalgic Nail Lacquer: Bizarre Teenage Love Triangle Collection

Good evening everyone! I have something fun to share with you guys tonight. Recently, Erin, of The Sugar Cube, launched her own Etsy shop where she is selling her line of nail lacquers, called Nostalgic Nail Lacquer. She sent me a couple of sets to show you guys!
The first trio I want to show you is the Bizarre Teenage Love Triangle collection, inspired by the eighties movie Pretty In Pink. *swoon* These are really cute pastel jellies - be still my heart! - with various sized glitters floating in them. They remind me of Sweet Tarts. I have not layered any of these, but these would be FANTASTIC layered.
I'll start with Duckie. Oh sweet Gods, a mint green jelly? Yes please! Duckie has three different shades of glitter. This is a darker mint, though - and quite a bit blue. So, an aqua mint? It's perfect. Because it's a jelly, it's a bit sheer, but I prefer it that way. I liked it with three layers but I could honestly have left it at two and been fine with it, I like it a bit sheer and squishy.

Click to enlarge these, please! The next one I'm showing you is Andie, which is a baby doll pink jelly with four shades of glitter. I used three coats here also. This shade of pink is pretty flattering on my skin tone, it's not too grey like some other baby pinks I've tried!

The last shade of this trio is Blane, and it's a squishy lilac jelly that maddeningly, reads strongly pink in photos. I assure you this REALLY IS purple.  No matter what light I took this in, it appeared more pink than purple! This was the most opaque of the three, but I still used three coats here.

Well, put directly below Andie, it definitely looks more purple. *whew* And I'm glad, because I dislike misrepresenting a color, but I'm sure you guys out there have read more than one nail blogger complaining about trying to get a purple to photograph correctly! They're stubborn little suckers.
This is the cutest collection, isn't it? I'm absolutely in love with it, they're JELLIES! They're PASTEL JELLIES WITH GLITTER! Squishy. I could squee all day over these. What do you guys think?

Color Club New Bohemian

New Bohemian is another shade from the Back To Boho collection from Color Club's fall release. Actually, I think this might be my favorite collection of all the fall collections - I want all but two of these! I've always felt that Color Club is underrated. They make wonderful shades, and though there are a bunch of neutrals in this - they make some really nice neutrals.
So, New Bohemian. This has been compared to China Glaze For Audrey, but that is quite a bit more blue - this is much more strongly green than For Audrey. They're both awesome aqua shades, though. I think this might be a tad more dusty than my photos show, but this is surprisingly color accurate. I thought I would have a hard time capturing this, and although it looks different depending on what lighting I was in, I did manage to find some that were almost perfect!
Let's talk about formula - Color Club usually has some great formulas on their polishes, and this is no exception. I used two coats for complete opacity, and it has a high shine. I like their brushes and of course, the square bottle is perfect.

I just love shades like this - I'll probably always find these irresistible.

Focus On Purple: Mattese Elite Explosive Sensation

We're officially starting the Focus On Purple series!
Confession: I used to be obsessed with purples, and at one point had two Melmer drawers full of nothing but purple polish. I got burnt out. I didn't buy a purple polish for a long, long time.
Well, I'm over it now and back to lusting after purples!
Kitty, of Kittypolishnbags, sent this in a care package to me recently and I've been hoarding it for Focus On Purple. I'd never heard of Mattese Elite, but if they make polishes like this I'll be lusting after them hard-core! The bottle reminds me of Milani's bottle. The lid is a bit different, not as narrow and tapered, but the brushes are essentially the same.
Okay, so I'm going to rave over this polish. Explosive Sensation (yeah, what's UP with that name anyway?) is amazeballs. Seriously, if you have access to this brand, you should nab this if you don't have it. It's a deep plum creme shot through with turquoise shimmer. So completely gorgeous! I used two coats here, good opacity also.

LOOK at that bottle shot! *swoon* That's awesome!

OCC Radiate and China Glaze Oxidized Aqua

This is my first OCC (Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics) polish ever! The always lovely and sweet Jess of Polish Insomniac recently sent me a random act of kindness package that included this hothothot polish. Radiate is a neon coral - somewhere in the middle of orange and pink. It is a jelly, so there's a little bit of VNL - but not a lot, considering I only used two coats here. I added a shiny top coat to this, because as with most neons, Radiate dries to a satin matte.
I wanted to play a bit with my new China Glaze metallic crackles, so I decided to top this with Oxidized Aqua. Holy HOTNESS this is great!

I decided to include that bottle shot of Oxidized Aqua, it's SO pretty. I love this combo. I don't know if you're sick of crackles - I myself am not - but these metallic ones I picked up are awesome.

China Glaze Blue Sparrow

Hope y'all aren't tired of China Glaze yet - did I mention I'm a fangirl? Yeah. This is Blue Sparrow, from the Ink collection of 2008. I also have Flying Dragon from this collection to show you, my two favorites. I used to have all of these, but I didn't really care for the others much, so I passed them on to better homes. This, as with Flying Dragon, dries mostly matte, so I slapped top coat on it. I LOVELOVELOVELOVE this shade, it's one of my all time favorites, when you put top coat on it, it just comes to life. It's a turquoise blue squishy jelly with true aqua shimmer and it's a stunner. I used two coats here.

You can see the shimmer pretty well in that shot with the bottle featured. Click to enlarge, if you like! Anyone else have Blue Sparrow and love it as much as I do? It's in my top 20 polishes, for sure.
