I have been a frankening fool today. I'm currently working on my third bottle! I almost forgot that today was Wednesday, so I figured I'd better get on it and work on a Pink Wednesday post. Do you wear pink on Wednesdays?
So, I had recently got several pinks, but I figured I'd better pull out a nice bright shade, a last fling with summer. Diamond Cosmetics Hot Lips seemed perfectly appropriate! This is one of my favorites - go figure, it's super bright and it's a jelly. Win! I used two coats for this, since I knew I wanted to try layering something over it. I could have probably gotten it pretty opaque in three, though. This dries super shiny - since it's almost a neon, it's that bright! - I was pretty surprised.
As a topper, I chose China Glaze Glacier. I remember the first time I ever tried Glacier, I thought I could wear it alone. I probably could, but it never got opaque. It's a very sheer white base with rainbow sparkly fine glitter. SO pretty.
Obviously, my photo doesn't do Hot Lips justice - it's much brighter than I can capture, but that shot is the closest I came. If you can see from the bottle, it's a blue leaning pink. If you want to get a better look at the pretty sparkles in Glacier, you'll have to click to enlarge this.

Pink Wednesday: Zoya Kiki and BB Couture Diamond Dust
I haven't been feeling up to snuff lately. I'm amazed I've even got these photos ready to go for today, but I did! Anyway, today's pink is one of my all time favorite pinks, Zoya Kiki. It's eye-searingly bright and has a strong blue flash. To top all that off, (as if it weren't already awesome enough) it has a gorgeous silver shimmer running through it. If you used to read my other blog, you will have seen this before!
Well, I wear this on my toes all summer. And inevitably I top it with BB Couture's Diamond Dust, because I like the extra bling. Diamond Dust is a milky sheer - you'd probably never get it to be opaque on its own. It's jam packed with gold and green glitter that seem to have almost an otherworldly glow - it's SO cool and I love it as a topper! I've included a bottle shot of Diamond Dust so you can see what I mean. If you love to layer, you should consider this one a must have.
I used three coats of Kiki, it's a little less opaque than you would think.
You've seriously got to click to enlarge these to see the hotness. You can imagine how much fun this would be on your toes in the summer!
So...are you wearing pink for Wednesday?

Pink Wednesday: China Glaze 108 Degrees
Oh, hello loverrrr. You are SO aptly named. HOTHOTHOT. Hot pink jelly glass fleck with blue flash? China Glaze, THIS IS PINK.
I know, everyone has already seen swatches of this. The collection just got to my Sally's, so I've decided that I need all of them except Cha Cha Cha. Now, that's weird because I'm obsessed with green - but seeing it in person it just doesn't appeal to me. Pass.
I picked up 108 Degrees immediately. Kellie suggested in my recent post on L'Oreal Pink Shells that they might be dupes, so since I wanted this anyway, I'd go ahead and swatch this and do a comparison.
A couple of things I'd heard before I bought this, and I thought I'd comment on my experience: It's thin. This one is a little thin, but it's a jelly so I've come to expect that. I used three thicker coats on this and got the opacity you see here. In these photos, my visible nail line (VNL) is more obvious than it is in real life. I've often found that if you prefer opacity in your jellies, that thicker coats are the way to go. Also, it's dupe-y to other polishes. It may be, but I haven't found one yet. I hadn't seen this comparted to No Way Jose, but to me it looks like it might be close - and if THAT is the case, well GOOD because I haven't been able to get my hands on it yet!
Pretty good macro, you can see the blue flash! Okay, now the comparison shot:

Okay, so you can see they're not dupes - they're like, sisters in that they're both hot pink with a blue flash. Considering they're at a similar price point, I'd go with the China Glaze - it's just got a better formula. NO BUBBLES OR LUMPS! The finish on Pink Shells is different, and it's lighter altogether than 108 Degrees.
So anyway, an awesome hot pink for Wednesday, and a little comparison as well.

Revlon Spring Minis Part One: Butterfly, Moss, and Tulip
Okay, I bought this because of Moss. Dear Revlon, BIG BOTTLE OF MOSS, STAT.
I recently saw a cute display of Revlon minis - two different trios, and I snatched them both up. I'll post them separately - I meant to actually have this up last week, but other things just kept getting posted instead.
I honestly could pass on the other two colors in this trio. Butterfly's okay, it applied well and only needed two coats. It's a nice juicy orange creme. Tulip, however, I wouldn't have picked up on its own. It's a bright pink creme, aptly named - to top it all off, the application was UTTERLY ATROCIOUS. Not. Exaggerating.
But Moss? Divine. Greenish dusty khaki goodness, two coats - totally yummy and I love the name. Instant favorite!

Pink Wednesday: L'Oreal Pink Shells
It's Wednesday, so we wear pink!
Okay, so this is from the new summer display. I spied out an orange, yellow, and a Charla dupe in the same display. This seemed to have the same finish as Charla, and it was hot pink - so I snagged it. WHY DO I HATE THIS ON ME SO MUCH?? *cough* I really frigging despise this on me.
The name, what's up with that? I rarely question names, but this doesn't seem apt at all.
And, this is sheer. This is three coats, and I still had VNL (visible nail line). VNL is okay on a jelly, or a glitter even - in my book, anyway! But on something with this sort of foil finish? Nahhh, pass. It took me over a year to get over my VNL phobia. In some finishes, it's still not acceptable.
Plus, it bubbles. I thought the first time I tried it, I had applied it too fast. No, I waited until each layer was dry and STILL bubbling.
Well, the pictures make it look good, though. So I'll give it some credit for that. But you can still see the bubbling. To be fair, I gave you guys several shots of this to look at, including a direct sunlight and a macro.
Sneaky she devil, this. Looks fantastic in photos, right? Anyone else picked this up yet?

Pink Wednesday: Orly Oh Cabana Boy
Now THIS is my kind of pink - actually, this is one of my favorites. I like 'em steaming hot, did I mention that? And Orly Oh Cabana Boy fits that bill. This is almost a neon pink, dries to a satin matte finish. It has a blue sheen - I included a macro for better viewing of that, it's like a subtle blue shimmer that adds to the amazing that this pink is. Looks fantastic on toesies, too! Haha, I'll stop raving now. Two coats on this swatch.

Do you have this and love it? I found mine at Sally's Beauty Supply in the core Orly display, so it's pretty easy to find. And if you're a nail blogger, or if you have a nail Tumblr, and would like to join in for On Wednesdays We Wear Pink, you can click on the title or the image in my sidebar!

Pink Wednesday: Diamond Cosmetics South Beach Pink
I have a love/hate relationship with pinks. Now, this is a nice, bright pink from Diamond Cosmetics. I need to snag - I think it's Hot Lips? - we'll just go ahead and call it Hot Lips, because it's a deeper hot pink, and JELLY. It's yum. But this is a pretty deep pink too. I think it may be a tad deeper than my photo shows. This is two coats.
And, it needed some bling. So I topped it with BB Couture Diamond Dust, which always does the trick. Perfect.

I love Diamond Cosmetics polishes. I wish I had kept my bottle of Chainmail Charm, you can't order it anymore. Sad face.
