Focus On Yellow: Revlon Sunshine Sparkle

Sunshine Sparkle (it's just funny to me how so many yellows have the word sunshine in them, kind of like red glitters and "ruby pumps") is a very soft cream yellow - like a pale lemon shade. It has fine silver shimmer in it.
Today's color is a perfect choice to talk about the problems we encounter when loving yellow polishes. This is streaky as hell. I used three coats to try to even it out, but you can still see patchiness/balding on my nails. Sometimes yellows will just be streaky in the first coat, but even out after a second or third. Sometimes, like Sunshine Sparkle, they NEVER even out. I love this color despite that, and I'm going to keep it to see if I can get it to level again. Seriously, this is one of the most pretty pale yellow shades I've ever seen.

Why yes, that IS a bubble. Anyway, I also snagged a macro, hoping you could really get a good look at that fine silver shimmer.
Five more days of yellows, coming up!

Wet N Wild Sunburst

Hey, Andrea! Here's a color that DOESN'T LOOK GOOD ON ME. Okay, so Sunburst is from the Bloom collection - something that took forever to show up in my stores! As a matter of fact, it showed up the same time as the Mermaid Cove in my CVS.
I picked up three of these pastels. The first I've got to show you is the peach, and it's so cute in the bottle. I think it looks awful on me. This is a creme, and it took three coats to even out. These little bottles have tiny handles, but it wasn't hard to adjust to.

Yeahhh. Not so much! I'm sure this would look cute on someone else, but I immediately took it off.

Essie Absolutely Shore

Absolutely Shore is from Essie's summer 2011 collection, Braziliant. I've only picked up two of these, the other one I nabbed is Smooth Sailing. Although I haven't gotten pictures of it, I'm sure most of you have seen that already - it IS indeed awesome. I'm a bit behind on my swatching because A. There hasn't been much sunlight here! and B. I'm overwhelmed with the recent collections that have emerged, drugstores included. I'm picking up bits and pieces at a time as I decide what I need. Drugstores and Sally Beauty Supply here tend to get things a bit later, usually!
Anyway - Absolutely Shore is a murky, dusty pastel green. I utterly adore this! Gah. Seriously, it's another addition to my mint collection, but I don't have a dupe - grunge mint creme, here. Two coats, this applied like a dream. I'm very glad, because my experience with Essie pastels has been sub-par - they're usually chalky, thick and hard to work with. Absolutely Shore was the total opposite.

Obviously, today's Wednesday. I'm skipping Pink Wednesday this week because I didn't get a pink swatch in! I've been considering if I need any more of the Braziliant polishes.

NYC Lemon Cream

I picked up three of these new NYC polishes - are these LE? - and I'm showing you Lemon Cream first. The bottles are shaped completely different from the other NYC polishes I have.
I know yellows can be problematic, but I love them SO freaking much. This is a yummy shade, perfectly named. It definitely went on streaky for the first coat, but leveled out nicely at coat number two, which is where I left it for this photo.
I hate that when blogger shrinks my image to fit into my posts, it almost looks distorted and blurry. /endOTrant

Have you tried any of these new NYC polishes?
