Confession: I wore this polish for six days straight while I was sick. The swatch I'm showing you tonight is right before I removed it! So, you can see it wore like iron - no chips or anything out of place, at all.
Zombie Zest is from last year's Halloween collection. It's an olive green jelly jam packed with the signature China Glaze glass fleck shimmer. It has a slight blue duochrome, that I cannot seem to capture in photos but I see it at weird angles when I'm wearing it. You can see it pretty well in the bottle shot I've included. I used three coats here for this level of opacity.
I have to go ahead and say this. I know everyone loves It's Alive from this year's offering - and I have it to show off as well this week - I too love it, I think it's great - but to me, Zombie Zest just does it. I can't explain why I love it so much more but I will tell you that it's one of my all time favorite polishes.
Anyway, I'll stop waxing poetic about it and just show y'all a ridiculous amount of photos.
Yeah. I LURVE YOU, ZOMBIE ZEST!

Finger Paints Catwalk Queen
I know that this color will probably not be popular - in fact, it really doesn't even suit my skintone at all. But I love it. It goes into the uglyawesome file, and although I look at it on my nails and think why am I wearing this? - I also am strangely attracted to it. Unlike the funky yellow greens, I don't think this compliments me at all. No matter, I'll keep wearing this. And I know I'll find a way to play with it, I think it would make a great base for a plaid manicure, if I could ever master those.
This was not as easy to apply as the other colors I picked up from Finger Paints fall, but still smoothed out after a couple of coats. It was a tad thicker, but it finally laid down right and settled out. It's definitely a dijon mustard shade on me, predominantly yellow with a touch of brown and green.
Strangely fascinating or just ugly, y'all??

China Glaze Trendsetter
China Glaze Trendsetter is the uglyawesome color to end all uglyawesome colors. Seriously, this is ugly. And so awesome! This will probably not appeal to a wide audience, but it's perfect. Last year, I was hoping Classic Camel was more like this. Classic Camel only worked on a few people, but if you're remotely interested in this shade, I think it will work with a much wider range of skin tones.
So, Trendsetter. This is a yellow with a lot of green. As a matter of fact, this pulls much more green on me than yellow. Very olive toned! It is chock full of gold shimmer, so that's just an added bonus in my opinion. Swampy. When I think of swampy, this definitely fits the nail polish bill! Formula was perfect, I only needed two coats and could almost have gotten away with one.
Oh ye Gods, I love that. It's so cool! So, time to weigh in. Would you wear this? Do you hate it? Do you love uglyawesome as much as I do?

China Glaze Electric Pineapple
Electric Pineapple is the second of the cremes in Island Escape. Another uglyawesome color, it's a dirty yellowish green. This one applied better for me than Papaya Punch, in that it wasn't as thick. This was more typical of what I expect from China Glaze - their formula for me is usually immaculate. This is two coats.
What do you guys think of the uglyawesome shades? Do you love them, like me, or would you never ever buy them?

China Glaze Papaya Punch
I ended up picking up most of the China Glaze Island Escape polishes. I didn't plan on it, but I loved them - so I got all but the green shimmer. I don't think I need it. Since I'm doing the purchasing on this blog and not getting samples in, I really need to consider what I need, and not what I won't use.
I'll digress for a minute on this subject. I am not complaining, because honestly - doing swatches of new collections gets overwhelming, and you never have time to just wear what you want. So I'm not complaining! Nowadays, I can wear whatever I put my little fingers on, and that makes me happy. You get a little of everything here on NN, which I wasn't able to do as much when MM got so big. I missed that. Hopefully this way you're getting a good variety of polishes, and there are lots of blogs who do get the new collection samples in, so I know you won't be missing out on that.
Anyway.
This was one of the two cremes in Island Escape - the other being Electric Pineapple. This one was a little thick, and I haven't unpacked my thinner (read: it's somewhere and I just hadn't found it yet!) - so I had to work with it as is. You'll see I had a bit of a hard time applying it - but it did self level when it dried. This dried to a nice glossy finish, and I love the shade. As I was discussing with @MissMidnightBlue on Twitter, I've always loved the uglyawesome shades. Always. This is a dirty, dusty orange that is in the same family as Sun Worshipper from last year's neon summer collection, but not neon at all. Also, it came out deeper than it appeared in the bottle. I used three coats here.
And there's Papaya Punch and Sun Worshipper next to each other.
On another side note, I've always been a fan of orange polishes, so it's nice to see SO many coming out this year!
