Tonight I have the other two polishes I was sent from Duri Cosmetics' The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo collection, Dragontini and Fallen Angel. Apparently there were two more polishes from this collection, Icicle and Frozen Fire, that are good layering polishes, but since I don't have those, I decided to use a couple more polishes I picked up recently to layer with these.
Dragontini is a very red purple creme, and as with the other polishes in this collection, had great opacity and needed only two coats. I love reddish purples so this one is a win for me - I don't have one quite this shade in my collection, so I'm glad to have this as an addition. Just a bonus that the opacity is perfect, too.
I layered one of the new Sally Hansen Diamond Strength polishes over this, Diamonds. This is so, so pretty! In the bottle it looks silvery white and ethereal. Layered over Dragontini, it glows a blue-silver in most light, but I see sparks of other colors as well that I just didn't capture on camera. There are larger specks of shimmer in this that resemble glass fleck.
So, Diamonds is such a pretty layering polish! I really like the multi-sized shimmer/flecks.
The second polish I have to show you tonight is Fallen Angel. This is a vampy wine purple with a hidden shimmer. It looks pretty dark in lower lights, but you can really see the base wine in the sun. Again, two coats. The shimmer in this really sparks up in the sunlight, you catch bits of it in lower light. I have photos of both and the macro is in lower light.
I picked up a second Sally Hansen Diamond Strength called Glass Slipper, and I simply adore this one - again, white and ethereal in the bottle but these are larger, silvery flakies on the nail. This is SO freaking cool!
I would especially encourage you to click to enlarge the Fallen Angel photos, particularly the sun one where you can see the shimmer really spark in the larger images.
So, I'm really impressed with these! I like all four polishes I received for review. What did you guys think??

Focus On Purple: Zoya Jem
Okay, another Focus On series is coming to an end today!
I have to warn you, I am not proud of these photos. They just do not do this polish justice.
Zoya Jem is the star, in my opinion, of the Smoke and Mirrors collection. This is a polish that I think would appeal to almost everyone - and it would probably suit almost every skintone. It's a chameleon, you see. Sometimes it looks straight up purple, sometimes the gold becomes strong, and other times it's a wine-red purple. I did my best to capture these shifts but the best shot I got was the first photo of this set. I have included a full sunshine shot in this as well, so you can see how the color seems to change in an instant.
So, this is a very reddish purple shimmer polish, that is has a gold duochrome. You can see this easily in the bottle, and you can indeed see it on the nail, but it was very hard for me to capture this. It applies easily, just two coats for full coverage and the formula is easy to work with.
What a beauty Jem is, I just love this. Do you have and love this?
As I mentioned before, I won't be putting a poll up for December's Focus On as I have decided to feature holographic polishes for the holidays! I hope you all will enjoy those, I have a lot of pretties to share for that week.

Focus On Duochrome: CQ Idyllic
CQ Idyllic is a drugstore gem I found one day while looking unsuccessfully for a discontinued Sally Hansen. These I've seen at Rite Aid - I don't know if they're found anywhere else. You can get this multichrome stunner for under $5! I want to say it was two or three dollars.
This is a shimmer, I used three layers here. It was thick enough on its own not to have to layer it over another color. It flashes brown, gold and wine red. It's stunning! Very fall feeling, as well.
I just love this so much. It was a joy to photograph, too by the way! So easy to capture all the pretty colors. I'm glad I snagged this when I saw it, I didn't know it was going to be quite this beautiful.

Layering: Zoya Anja and OPI Rent
I showed you Anja yesterday, and I thought this might look good with one of the OPI Holiday on Broadway polishes I picked up recently, Rent. Now, this doesn't look like much in the bottle. I'll show off bottle photos here, but it's thin and watery, and if you didn't know about layering, you might wonder why would I even want this polish?
It's not as strong of a duochrome as Movin' Out, from the same collection, but boy is this pretty layered. It flashes silver, pink, and green sparkles! I hope I captured that effectively here.
I'd like to encourage you to click on these photos and enlarge them. This is sooo pretty. I just used one coat of Rent!
Knowing that's a layering polish, isn't that last bottle shot gorgeous? I still have to play with Movin' Out and Mamma Mia, since I picked up both of those as well. I wonder what this looks like over other polishes? I need to try it out, have any of you got Rent and layered it?

Zoya Anja
Zoya Anja is a deep wine purple. It's super sexy! You can see that it's purple in lower light, so it's not too dark. This is a very red-toned purple. It does dry darker than the bottle shade. I used two coats here.
I've got a low light shot, and a direct sunlight shot to give you an idea how this looks in different kinds of light!
Wow, such a beauty! This gave me an idea, I'll show you what I layered this with tomorrow. What do you think of this deep shade for fall? I'm loving this.

China Glaze Midtown Magic
I have so many fall polishes I want to show you guys, so I'll be working on getting them swatched and posted over the next couple of weeks. Hopefully that's okay with everyone!
I picked out five polishes from China Glaze Metro that I felt like I had to have. I ordered them from Victoria Nail Supply - I'll be posting a review on my experience tomorrow during the day, if you're interested! I want to have a look at the rest of the collection in person, I may pick up one or two more to fill "holes" in my collection.
Midtown Magic is the first of my Metro picks that I want to show you, and it's a beauty. I must have taken over a hundred photos of this, trying to capture the beauty, hopefully you'll like the ones I picked out!
Let's hope I can describe this finish, because it's complex and I hope I am seeing this right. The base is a dark purple red jelly - think wine - that is absolutely packed with greenish gold and red shimmer. Wow. I think I got that right! Although it's a jelly base, this gets opaque in two coats. Let me tell you something, if you remotely think you might need this polish, YOU DO. GET IT. It's absolutely stunning. It's really pretty, although dark and vampy, in low light, but when you get it in the sun - holy cats. It's sparkly and mesmerizing. Although I am loving all the olivey greens I've been seeing in fall collections, I'm just going to go ahead and say that this is probably my favorite polish from this fall's offerings.
My photos here are not as perfect as I'd hoped for, but I hope you'll be able to see the beauty of this. I included a direct sunlight photo that's for crap, but at least you'll be able to see how it sparkles and glows and absolutely lights up.
Enough raving.
Seriously, click on those and enlarge them. Do you love this or what? Did you pick out any of the Metro collection?

Revlon Just Tinted
Okay, so I saw a post on Nails Beautiqued about the pretty Revlon jellies, the Just Tinted polish, I had to go and snatch them all up. I'd seen the display - but I didn't know exactly what they were. I'd meant to pick up one and give it a try, but I hadn't yet - after that post, I bought them all! These are sheer jellies, folks. To get these opaque with no VNL - I don't even know what that would take. I used three coats for all of my swatches, and I have VNL in all four of these. Also - these dry semi matte! I've used top coat on all of these, because I like my jellies to be shiny. Obviously. They're SO SQUISHY and JUICY though. Oh gosh, I love these.
Okay, so the first one is Dawn - orangey-peach.
I *love* these. I have been making jelly sandwiches with them. Dear Revon: we need these in many, many shades. Please, thank you! I have only two complaints: Why did they make them semi-matte? And, secondly - they're a little streaky. Especially Mystical. Nothing I can't handle, though.
So, have you guys spied these out? Did you pick any up yet??

This next is Desire. Bright fun pink.
Mystical - darker, berry/wine.
Victorian - softer pink than Desire, leans slightly coral.

Rimmel Purple Rain
I am doing some revisiting to colors I'd swatched before. Well, not here, so that's okay right?
I had a bunch of Rimmels previously, and have been picking some up again. This was a favorite of mine, not just because of the name - it's a wine jelly! This is AWESOME. It's vampy, but you can see the lightening at the tips. This is three coats. Cleanup of my line is not there, because I planned to layer this - you'll see that tomorrow night though. I just didn't bother with it. Oh well *shrugs* It's not a huge mess, right? Anyway. If you like vampies, jellies, and wine shades - this is a must have. I have a hard time with the brush on these new Rimmels, because they're like the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polishes, which I've never been able to quite master. I'm not a fan of that, but the formula and colours on the Rimmels I quite like.
Naturally, this does look darker in low lighting. SUPER SHINY, oh haiiii.

China Glaze Dripping Wet
Man, I hate that. Yes, those are sheet marks in my manicure. *sigh* And strangely, only on my index and middle fingers. I THOUGHT they were dry when I hit the bed, but obviously not so much.
Moving on. This is one of my favorite jellies, China Glaze Dripping wet. It's a yummy, deep wine jelly - halfway between red and purple. I layered it over China Glaze Ruby Pumps on my ring finger, I wish it had shown up better in photos but it's awesome for layering over glitters. It's a really nice jelly, you can see exactly how jelly by the lightening of the shade at the tips of my fingernails. This is a long discontinued shade, I think it came from the Patent Leather collection? That's all the info I could find on it - and I don't spy it on the bay of evil now. It's definitely a treasure in my collection. This is three coats, not bad for opacity.
There are SO many treasures I want from China Glaze that are discontinued. I'm out of work for a couple days, due to the bad storms that blew through the Raleigh area over the weekend, so I'll try to get some swatches cranked out in my downtime. It's too dangerous to drive still in parts of downtown. There are curfews, for reals - Shaw University is sending folks home for the rest of the semester, and the National Guard is here, since the governor has declared a state of emergency.
